Seebohm. This work was edited and completed (after the author's death) by R. Bowdler Sharpe. The complete work in two volumes. With 149 handcolored lithographs after paintings by J. G. Keulemans. One of the last major monographs on a family of birds illustrated by Keulemans. While many species of thrushes lack the bright colors of some families, the sublte brown, gray, orange, and black plumage along with speckled breasts have a charm of their own. Bound in three quarter burgundy Morocco over red cloth. Raised bands with gilt title and decorations on the spine. Slight shelf wear to the binding and hinges. A small closed tear to p. 17 and foxing to Plate LXXVII. Overall a magnificent set with tissue guarded plates bright.
