Product Details
Owen J. Gromme served as curator of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's inaugural Birds in Art exhibition in 1976, and was honored as the first Master Artist. It was the Gromme-organized exhibition, Birds of the Lakes, Fields and Forests, that positioned the fledgling museum on its course to set the standard for art of the natural world with an avian focus. The museum's new Gromme collection is celebrated in this catalog, illustrated with 45 color plates. The story is told in Generating Their Own Light: The Marshall & Ilsley Bank Paintings & the Career of Owen J. Gromme, by Tom Davis, Serendipity at its Best by Kathy Kelsey Foley, Museum Director, and The Final Migration by Mark Furlong, President & CEO of Marshall & Ilsley BMO Harris Bank.
