Our Opinion: This book is very small for covering such a wide area. The text is extremely concise, and the pages are a bit cramped, squeezing a few too many birds on each plate, which results in very small thumbnail distribution maps beside the text, opposite the plates. Ber van Perlo's artwork is very nice and very helpful, but it is not our favorite artwork.
The introductory material includes twenty pages on the endemics of each area, with maps and illustrations. Overall a very nice guide, nearly small enough to be pocket size.
