This edition comprises the first choice of selected sheets from the first impressions of the format de luxe of the Birds of California. In full leather with hand-carved and hand-colored bird portraits in half relief of hardwood on covers, spine panels separated by inlaid bird figures. The Patron's Inlaid Edition is the most opulent and rare of the many editions of The Birds of California published under the sponsorship of Ellen Browning Scripps.
