In the Natural History of New York series. Good hardcover bound in original dark brown cloth. Spine chipped, corners worn. Name stamps of the Oliver Iron Mining Co. on feps. The Third Geological District fourteen and a half counties lying between the Pennsylvania line on the south, Lake Ontario and Jefferson County to the north, and a line extending north and south to the limits of the State through Cayuga Lake to the west and the counties of Delaware, Schoharie, Schenectady, and Saratoga to the east. The text is illustrated with numerous black and white engravings and woodcuts.The book was finished before the Geolgical Map of the Third District was completed and thus contains no map.
