Two volumes. Volume I: Text volume: colored map, 504 pp. The only volume published of a planned multi-volume work abandoned as a result of the death of the senior author at Neuve-Chapelle in 1915. Volume II: Plate volume published in 1917 contains 38 handcolored lithographs by H. Gronvold with descriptive notes by H. Kirke Swan. The plates were intended to accompany the projected 16-volume work. Beautifully bound in matching burgundy Morocco over red cloth.
