This CD contains a selection of recordings made by the authors and other recordists during the last 15 years in mountainous regions of Bahia, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo states in Eastern Brazil. Featured are 141 vocalizations (songs and calls) of 104 birds recorded in their sound environments. Many of these species, such as the Black-and-Gold Cotinga, occur in a larger area of South America, being commonly heard also on the mountains. Scientific, Portuguese, and English names are listed.
