Sclater's own copy with his signature on ffep. 104 pp. 45 hand-colored lithographs executed from drawings by OUDART. Colored map. First 14 plates have been numbered in ink with plate and page numbers (presumably by Sclater). Lead white discoloration around the images of some of the birds has been professionally cleaned. Original maroon cloth. Philip Sclater was one of the great nineteenth century ornithologists.
