This MP3 CD contains 340 vocalizations of 180 species (in 50 families) of birds of the country of El Salvador. In these two hours of recordings approximately 33% of the 546 species of El Salvador are represented. This CD includes the recordings of common species like Melanerpes aurifrons, the rarely seen Bubo virginianus, Icterus maculialatus, a species endemic to the region, and Dendroica chrysoparia, an endangered species at the global level among many others. Recordings were made in every corner of the country, from coast to northern mountain ranges. We hope that this CD will cause the interest of bird enthusiasts, biologists and nature lovers and a true sense of the diverse and wonderful birds in El Salvador.

Jesse Fagan has studied birds in El Salvador since 1995. He is a research associate with SalvaNATURA, supporting different scientific projects since 2005. Currently, he works as a guide and interpreter for the eco-tourism company Field Guides, Inc., and is writing a bilingual guide on the birds of El Salvador.
