Helm Identification Series

It was nearly 20 years ago when British publisher Christopher Helm published Seabirds: An Identification Guide, the first in a now acclaimed series of illustrated guides to the identification of birds in taxonomic groups. Each species is given detailed treatment; range maps face the colored plates which depict both sexes and juveniles. Additional titles are anticipated.

OXFORD BIRD FAMILIES OF THE WORLD

Titles in the Bird Families of the World series, published by Oxford University Press, all follow the same two-part format. Section one combines description and analysis of life cycles with detailed illustrations, and covers courting and feeding habits, social systems, dispersal, breeding, diet, and conservation. The second section contains detailed information on each species, detailing physical attributes and differences with range maps and color plates.
