The Birds of the World Bookcase is handcrafted by Saine Cabinetry exclusively for Buteo Books, and sized specifically for the complete 16-volume set of The Handbook of the Birds of the World. The case shown is of solid North American Cherry. It measures 22"W x 35 1/2"H x 12"D. With the Solid Cherry Book Stand the height is 42" tall. The Book Stand is free standing and can be used on a desk or table for the convenience of the reader.

Each of the two shelves is designed to hold eight of the projected total of sixteen volumes. Since we do not know the exact thickness of the final six volumes, we have allowed about 2" extra width for each shelf. This extra width can be eliminated or filled with an appropriate book or spacer, at the purchaser’s discretion.

Glass Door Option: The glass door option comes as a single solid frame door with brass (antique/Bright) mortise hinges, catch and matching knob. It can be hinged on either the left or right. It will be shipped on the Bookcase without the glass. It will come with the necessary glass-stop so that any glass supply store (or home hobbyist) can attach it with small brads once the glass is fitted.

Wood Option: The Birds of the World Bookcase can be made from a variety of native wood species to fit your room or library. Quotes can be provided for the wood species of your choice.

Shipping: There is a $75 packing and crating fee which includes insurance. Shipping rates will be quoted according to address via either road freight or UPS/Fed-EX rates.
