Bird Songs of Mexico: Yucatan Peninsula, Volume I / Cantos de las Aves de México. Península de Yucatán, Volumen I
The first in a series of audio guides to the birds of
Mexico. This collection of stereo recordings was made exclusively in the Yucatan Peninsula and
contains bird songs of 92 species of year-round resident and migratory birds,
including endemics found only in this region. Includes
a 32-page booklet with text in both English and Spanish. The introduction is followed
by a list of species and soundscapes that lists the English, Latin, and local name,
the length of the recording, and the date and location at which the sound was
recorded. It also includes a short bibliography and a complete English name checklist.

Bird Songs of Mexico: A collaborative project.
This volume represents the initial step of a long-term collaborative project between SONAT (Sounds
of Nature - Acoustic Archive) developed and maintained by Antonio Celis-Murillo and BISAM (Library
of Sounds of the Birds of Meixco) of the Department of Biodiversity and Animal Ecology, Institute of
Ecology, A.C.
SONAT and BISAM collect, document, and archive recordings of Mexican bird vocalizations and
Mexican soundscapes as well as produce audio guides with regional and state emphasis.
